Harvatine Appointed SASD Assistant Superintendent of Student and Instructional Services
Mr. Seth Harvatine has been appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Student and Instructional Services in the Sheboygan Area School District.
“Based upon the leadership that Seth has provided during his time in the District, I have no doubt he will do an excellent job leading the District’s efforts so that all students will be productive and responsible citizens. He has been an instrumental leader, working to improve classroom instruction and student achievement,” said Dr. Joseph Sheehan, Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District.
Harvatine has been with the Sheboygan Area School District since 1998 in roles that include Instructional Technology Trainer/Curriculum Specialist, Cleveland Elementary School principal, and Longfellow Elementary School principal. Harvatine has been in his current position as the Director of Instructional Services for the last four years.
Some of Harvatine's most recent responsibilities include: facilitating professional development sessions on enhancing teacher instructional practice, providing support to district staff on the implementation of the reading and language arts Common Core Standards, overseeing the district’s Educator Effectiveness model, leading the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across the district, and supervising building principals. In 2012, he received the Outstanding Administrator Award from Wisconsin State Reading Association.
Harvatine will be replacing Mr. Mark Holzman, who recently announced he would be leaving the SASD to lead Manitowoc Public Schools as their Superintendent. Harvatine will assume his new role on July 1, 2015.
